Kactus - The Hidden Treehouse is a beach resort on the magical island of Koh Ta Kiev in Cambodia. Located right on Plankton Beach on the south of the island, in Sihanoukville province.
We provide different types of accommodations, starting from tents and dormitory beds to private bungalows with shared and ensuite bathrooms. The price starts from 3$/night. Please see the options here.
You will be amazed by the number of activities and different experiences that we (and mother nature) have in place: boat tours, kayaking, snorkelling, yoga classes, meditation, hiking, beach games, petanque and mini golf, recycling & creative art workshop, swimming with bio-luminescent plankton and much more!
Also, there are beautiful tracks around the island through the jungle. You can visit the floating fishing village or jump from Elephant rock.
There is WiFi in our commune living area (on donation) and we have a 4g signal booster. Phone operators Cellcard and Smart are the ones that work the best in the bar area but in other places the connection can be very weak. Even if Smart gives a signal, Cellcard will be a better choice for a stronger signal.
We offer several types of delicious food based on a Western-Cambodian kitchen. Seafood, meat, vegetarian or vegan options are available. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as snacks and dessert.
In case of any allergies, please inform us while ordering the food.
Yes, you can. However, if you bring your food, we charge $4/kilo. For the drinks, we charge $0.50/per can of beer, $5 per bottle of wine and $10 per bottle of strong alcohol.
We also ask you not to bring lots of plastic to the island and clean everything after yourself to keep this beautiful place clean and cozy.
Please note there is no public ferry or speed boat service to Koh Ta Kiev. Our "Kactus Boat" will pick you up from Ream beach, at Kactus boat pick-up point.
Departure daily at 12:30 pm.
Price from/to Ream is 7,5$ per person one way.
We can also pick you up at a custom time with our private boat (25$ for 2 people).

By booking with us you will get an additional email with all the details regarding a boat transfer. Just show up 15 minutes before departure, jump on our boat, and your Kactus holiday story can start.
Please do not buy any tickets from the mainland, we do not accept them.
Our captains know that you should be on the boat & expect you on your departure times, but our Kactus boat leaves on time. If you missed the boat, please contact us immediately! We will find a solution to arrange your arrival.

Please do not jump on one of the other boats, you might end up far from us.
The boat to the mainland leaves daily around 11h-11h30 from Kactus. However, we try our best to please all the guests that check out on the same day, so you can decide when you want to leave.
Kactus is a self-sustainable beach resort. We are using electricity from solar panels and pumping water on a daily basis from our 14m deep well.
In order to get around during the night hours, you will need a torch, headlamp or phone light which will be enough.
On some days and depending on the season mosquitoes are preventable only by a mosquito spray. If you have sweet blood, bring one with you.
The same goes for sandflies. By applying coconut oil before going to the beach you will prevent itchy nights. We do sell organic coconut oil!
We have a first aid kit to treat cuts and small wounds, however, note that there is no pharmacy on the island so make sure you bring all your personal medicine with you.
We do not accept credit cards and there is no ATM on the island. However, we accept ABA payment and cash, both USD and Riel. So please make sure you bring enough cash.
Yes! Just let us know where you want to get picked up and when you want to arrive on Koh Ta Kiev. We will send a taxi or bus which will bring you to our boat stop. It is also possible the other way.
The price depends on the number of persons and on the location you want to get picked up/dropped off.
